Hawzah News Agency- Professor Umberto Vattani, President of the International University of Venice, met and talked with the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the Vatican, Hujjat al-Islam Muhammad Hussein Mokhtari, at the Iranian embassy on Saturday, December 30.
In this meeting, Professor Vattani introduced this university and said,” The International University of Venice is about 30 years old and was established near the city of Venice, which accepts 280 students from other universities in Italy as well as other countries every six months. The students spend their supplementary years in this university in fields such as ethics, architecture, philosophy as well as in the field of modern world order such as climate change, protection of natural resources and migration, and the professors are selected from among the professors of other universities affiliated with this academic center.”
He added,” The duration of studying in this university is six months to one year, and students in the mentioned fields come to this university in the last year of their studies and receive an official degree. This university is connected with important and prestigious centers such as the Italian National Research Center, the National Institute of Nuclear Physics and other centers.”
The Iranian ambassador to the Vatican Hujjat al-Islam Mohammad Hossein Mokhtari, while appreciating him for his explanation, noted, “As the official representative of the Islamic Republic of Iran and the supreme advisor to the head of Iran’s seminaries, I announce that we can have good cooperation in the mentioned aspects.”
Hujjat al-Islam Mokhtari, emphasizing that the inherent duty of the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in the Vatican is cultural cooperation and religious dialogue, noted,” Prior to my mission in Italy, I had meetings with the President of the Islamic Republic, in which he emphasized religious and cultural relations with the Holy See.”
At the end of this meeting, both sides expressed hoped that a new chapter of bilateral cooperation between the International University of Venice and the universities and seminaries of Iran would soon begin, and that with the exchange of professors and students, study opportunities would be used in the field of preparing and editing a bilingual scientific journal. Important steps should be taken jointly between these centers.
Professor Vattani also officially invited the ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the Vatican to visit the university in order to give a speech.
